Rowling’s new novel begins when the sudden death of a well-liked man rocks the “seemingly idyllic” town of Pagford, England. Beneath its pleasant facade, Pagford is actually a “town at war,” roiled by class conflicts — rich people at odds with the poor — and in-fighting within families. The publisher described the tone of the book as “darkly comic.”
All together now: EEEEEEE!!!
Now this one is in my opinion within the scifi genre of tv shows…it’s about two vampire brothers, a doppelganger, the original vampires, witches and much more. For me personally, it’s about a pair of amazing, expressive, sexy, soul-piercing blue eyes…and of course the man who those eyes belong to —> Damon Salvatore…played by the BRILLIANT Ian Somerhalder.
In case some of you haven’t already guessed it, the tv show I’m talking about is The Vampire Diaries #TVD.
I initially started watching the show because I desperately missed having Ian Somerhalder on my TV on a weekly basis (ever since his character was killed off on Lost). But, this show is about so much more than just vampires. The characters have so many layers to them and the storylines just hook you. Even though the show is about the supernatural, the characters are extremely relatable and so are the situations they are faced with (no matter how extreme the circumstances).
Ever since I started watching 3 years ago, I have been hooked on this show (and I will continue to watch it for as long as it is on). At it’s core, in my opinion, the show is about family and friendship and love. Those relationships that we all have or yearn for and struggle with. It is a must watch if you’re into vampires, if you enjoy a good love triangle, or even if you’re just looking to escape from your problems and delve into another world (of sorts).
P.S. It occurs to me that I only mentioned Ian Somerhalder here, but note that while he plays my favorite character, the rest of the characters and the actors who portray them are equally extraordinary. Nina Dobrev (who plays not one, but two distinct characters), Candice Accola, Paul Wesley, Michael Trevino, Kat Graham, Steven McQueen, Zach Roerig, Matt Davis and all the others have portrayed their characters amazingly. All of these actors have at least once brought me to tears with their performances…so KUDOS to them all.
Also thanks to Julie Plec, Kevin Williamson and all the others who are responsible for bringing this amazing show to life and on my tv every week : )

Scooby Who?
Say what you will, but kids who grew up with Doctor Who are much more prepared for alien invasions.
Anybody who isn’t a Whovian is going to be very confused as to why this has so many notes.
QUICK. FIX IT. FIX IT NOW.
